  • Carvin NAMM reissues V220 & Ultra V

It looks like Carvin is going to be releasing there V220 and Ultra V . I always wanted a V220 when I was younger. Now I can get a brand new one. Mahogany body & neck , birdseye fret board ......

Awesome! I think back in the 80's you could get the V in a reverse body so the top wing was longer...like a Jackson RR. Is that true or am I just crazy? I wonder if they'll have the reverse body again now.

      "birdseye fret board"?....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I think he means when he orders one to his specs.

I wonder if Craig Chaquico will be there for the show?

something about Carvins just turns me off. I know they are very nice quality guitars, but their shapes and headstocks generally are fugly.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Awesome news! They even brought back the pointy headstock, only it looks a little different than the ones from the 80's or maybe it's the pitched angle of the headstock, I don't know for sure but it doesn't look 100% the same.

That said if you can get this with reverse body, I may be considering a reverse headstock maple boarded version.

You are right, that optional pointy headstock is the design right after the Jackson syle. Carvin doesn`t want the hassles that come along with re-issuing the Jackson esque style headstock, which by the way was an awsome headstock from Carvin. The 2nd generation pointy is cool. I use to have a 2005 DC125 with that option, which by the way is about $100. It is a cool headstock, no worries. Jack.

OK, after having a few minutes to contemplate:

Maple Ultra V w/M bridge - Natural finish, matching headstock, black hardware, and ebony board with dots. To match my DC125.

                  It's on.

Apparently they might be brought back, down the line:

Very cool. Back in the day, I was in a band with 2 brothers, who both played V220s. One was the bass version - both had trems. (I played my trusty old Charvel Model 2).
