EMG HID pickups

Has anyone any info on these EMG HID pickups? They were installed in a Fernandes Strat that I picked up at a pawn shop. Does HID stand for "Humbucker In Disguise?"

What do they look like from the front?
Could be an older set of SAV's or SLV's.
SAV's have exposed pole pieces and SLV's do not.

I've never seen those before. You could probably e-mail EMG and ask what that is.

Good one but not in this case. They sound balanced and full, typical EMG. Here's a shot of the front of the pickups. These things have been PLAYED. The EMG lettering is nearly gone.

I have had HI's but HID's I've never seen those before

Ah, that's cool! My oldest EMG-58 looks a lot like that as well. You can tell that it's been sitting in a slanted position because of the wear.

Probably like Duncans - the last letter is whoever wound them (in this case, the same person wound all three, making them a matched set).

i have an old 85 that says HID on the back of it.
