  • Installing Fender Noiseless pups, need help!

My wife bought me a set of these (from my Christmas list ) and now I'm ready to install them. I was going to just pay a local shop to put them in but since my wife bought them at another store they won't even take them in. So, I can either go get a refund and buy them from the other store just so they can put them in (which is crap) or put them in myself which I'm not afraid to do.

My dilema is not understanding where to put the resistors that came with the set and the diagram is not that clear. Also, Fender's website does not have a clearer set of instructions or diagrams. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

?!? Why the hell would one store give a shit where you bought pups from if you want them installed? They're just losing money by not wanting to do an install. Sheesh. Some people's kids.

Probably so when they burn them out because they botched the job they can write it off as a tax dodge

But why can't the shop they were bought from install them?

The shop they were bought from is Guitar Center. I wouldn't want to trust them...so I thought about asking another mom-n-pop store to do it. They are the ones with the stupid policy.

ok, well I just had 100% success putting them in myself. Not only did I save myself $50 but I also have the satisfaction of knowing how it's done...not to mention it only took a few hours instead of several days.

Here's a pdf file from the fender site that may be a little more clear on where to solder the resistor & cap:

Found it on this guy's blog.

Looks like he was having the same problem with the crappy schematic that came with the pickups.

edit- cool, glad you got it working!
