  • Floyd Rose Tunning Problem

I recently purchased a guitar with a Floyd on it and changed the string guage from .008 to .010 and did the set up ( adjusted the spring tension, string height etc. ) as soon as I use the bar the guitar goes out of tune ( yes its locked down ) . I have the bridge set parallel with the body as I do on my other guitars, is this wrong? My other Floyd equiped guitars have 3 springs this one only has 2 could that be the problem? Any ideas? Some help would be appriciated .
    Thanks
    Randy

    Add a 3rd spring.
Also, make sure the strings have been properly stretched (broken in). I usually do a few good dives then pull ups to get the strings in their "happy" place. Then retune and lock 'em down. You should be good to go.

and you need to stretch the hell out of the strings within the first 15-20 minutes of them being on the guitar at tension. i like to stretch them with the locking nuts off and retune and stretch and retune again and agian unitll the whole thing stays close to tune after a round of stretching.

then i lock down and stretch and retune. good to go.
