  • Need to upgrade acoustic tuners

A friend of mine was given a Jasmine/Takamine acoustic and it needs some better tuners. The stock tuners are the type that have two screws on the back. I'm not really sure what I should be looking at when searching the net and the bay (brand names...types, etc) Any suggestions?

The closest thing I could find to the original screw pattern is these vintage Fender tuners...just to give you an idea of what I'm looking for...

I don't know about the screw pattern, but I absolutely love the open back, self locking Sperzels. I like them so much, that they are going on my single hum bullseye, very soon.

I put Schallers on my Charvel acoustic a few years back and they did the trick. since then I've fallen in love with locking tuners so if I were replacing tuners now, I'd do locking Schallers or locking Grovers or locking Sperzels. just depends what look you want.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Grover makes an open style thats looks killer on acoustics.
