  • Alternate tunings

Thinking about lowering the tuning on my Kelly.Anyone know what In Flames tuned to on the last 2 records? Ive heard it was A# anyone know if this is true & what is each string tuned to to achieve this. I thought it was a dropped tuning due to the fact of seeing them play power chords with the usual 1 finger. Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermore tune down to A# and they play 7-strings. I have a hard time imagining In Flames tune that low. They most likely tune to C (sounds like that anyways). To tune to C you'll have to tune from low e to high e: C,F,A#,D#,G,C.

If you tune to C using the same strings and setup you used for standard E tuning, you'll have some serious floppage on your hands.

Audio Phonics makes a nice tuning program for your computer. It has a lot of alternate tunings built into it also. Here's a link to their website...
