• Michael Romeo, neck pickup.. what does he use?

I know Michael Romeo uses a DiMarzio X2N as a bridge pickup, but what does he use for the neck?

I know he's not a Jackson player.. but I don't know where else to put this.

He uses EMG's in the instruction vid I have with him...

But that's a few years old... Has he switched to a DiMarzio in the bridge now?

It says he uses X2Ns and Tone Zones.. but does that mean he uses a Tone Zone in the neck..?

Ha! Nevermind! I found an interview with him and he says he uses a Tone Zone in the neck position. Strange, eh?

His tone zone is wired in series parallel(single coil tone without hum) which cuts the power by almost 40% and increases the highs quite a bit.
a pup like the tone zone is a good one to wire this way since it is a hot pup with a lot of bass and low mids when used in standard series wiring.
paul gilbert also sometimes used dimarzio wired in series parallel
if you want to try it with ANY dimarzio bucker just wire red and white together to HOT and black/green and bare to ground

The instruction Video is from Japan.
I have one and is great.
He did that around 96-7 I think.
He plays a Purple ESP with EMGs.

It's from Young Guitar. Looks very much like dual 81s, as both logos are silver (you can see them when he does his tapping stuff).

You brought up a thread from over a year ago to tell a kid who's no longer a member here about this?? And as for series and parallel, you don't know what you're talking about. Series and parallel are two different wirings. Series is a normal humubucker with the coils working together, parallel are the two coils working side by side.
