  • Question about neck on my new Gibby LP Studio

Without having to resort to the techniques described in this forum, will the neck on my new Gibby become more slick over time with playing? If so, roughly how much time?
My future band shall be known as "One Samich Short Of A Picnic"!

That depends on how much you play it.Gibson is bad about shipping guitars out with the lacquer not completly dry.You can take 2000 grit sandpaper and lightly scuff the back of the neck and let it dry.Dont worry there is tons of clear coat on a LP.Let it sit for a day or two longer if you can then use 3M finessit or a good scratch remover and apply it in a circular motion then buff it out and it should feel slicker.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

My new LP took about 6 months to start to settle down. I would wash it with a soft rag and use a little soap when it got sticky.
