I was sorting thru my stash of vintage pickups and found an early DiMarzio double creme super D this thing is worn pretty bad on the bobbins and fairly rusty in the pole pieces but that just made me think this pickup has seen a lot of use so it must sound good.3 conductor wire and just DiMarzio on the base plate/ no number.14.8 dc res.
HOLY SHIT! laminated bobbins so late 70s production.I put it in my model 2 strat head project and HOLY SHIT! again what a flat out tone monster the whole guitar vibrates so freakin hard I played for 3 hours non stop.
There is so much bottom end in this pickup its unreal the mids and highs are there too.I'm a pickup whore and I've never had a super D like this one its bad ass.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Sounds like you found the pickup that best suits that guitar.
