  • Kahler Stringlocks

My Kahler-equipped Charvel came to me with no stringlock - holes are there though. Kahlerparts.com lists a "standard" and a "pro" - I know one requires a wrench and one doesn't, but does anyone have a preference for one vs. the other?

And - this is a dumb question - two of the holes are drilled through the truss rod cover. Stringlock screws in over the trussrod? Thanks.

    Hi Craig,

I prefer the allen-wrench style lock-nut(I'd assume this is the standard)as imo it locks the strings tighter than the flip-lock style!!

& yes, many SD Charvels had the Kahler lock-nut mounted on top of the truss cover!!

    Killer Charvel btw!!

agreed on the stringlock preference. Older Jacksons and Carvin mounted their kahler stringlocks just like that as well. "tacky" as hell, if ya ask me!
