  • Matching Paint (SLSMG)?

Does anyone know of a paint that will match the satin-black finish on the SLSMG? I was taking pics of my guitar so I could use them in a "for sale" ad and accidentally dropped the guitar, putting two tiny chips in the finish. I've already repaired the chips (which came out VERY good) but I need to find a paint match.

    Thanks for any help.

That color will be near impossible to touch up without repainting the whole body (that is, if you want the repairs completely un-noticeable). One thing you might try though: get a can of krylon semi-gloss black, spray some in the lid, and use a small paint brush to touch up the dings. That'll probably be about your best bet.

Yes, did the repair and it turned out "ok". I used a base coat of rustoleum bbq grill paint and a top coat of rustoleum satin-black. It's close to a match but the spot is noticeable and distinct. If I keep the guitar I may strip the finish off entirely and do a nice tung oil finish. Let the mahogany show through
