  • Check out this nifty trem block gizmo

I got this off Ebay. Figured I'd try it out and see how well it works. The springs are to soften the blow of the trem block hitting it.

I think that use to come stock on the mid 80's Kramer Pacers.

How much did that run you? I ended up blocking my trem with a shim of aluminum, topped with a piece of Buna-n rubber. I don't get any of the clunking that many complain, thanks to the rubber, cushioning the impact.

It cost me $7.00 plus shipping. Here it is installed:

Certainly looks like it. The Floyd/Kramer version had an additional piece and mounted above the springs.

How do you like it, Zeegs? May have to give one a try.

Yup, that would be it. Missing a few parts, though. How is it, operationally, installed? I mean, as it's not mounted like it was in the picture provided, is there any rubbing or interference of any sort?

LOL, you'd never know there were parts missing. It works perfectly as is. It just requires one screw to install. There is enough room under the trem springs, that it does not rub or interfere with them at all.

It works great too. Tuning is very, very stable. I have the adjustment nuts tightened all the way up, but if you loosen them up, you can still pull back on the trem, so I guess it works as either a stabilizer or a block.

+1 here They work really good, plus they are made very well and look like part of the guitar.

ok, i've been wanting to try those out for a while. so after zeeglers post i went on the hunt for these again.

                        here's what I found:

                        http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/g...frstoplock.htm

so I bought ten of them

they have a fixed 5.95 shipping price so I figured it was either $7 for one or $16 for ten.

they came today - they look exactly like what zeegler got. thanks for inspiring me to hunt these down again

Do they add sustain or affect the tone?
