  • fixing a crack in an acoustic

My brother has a nice Takamine acoustic that has a big crack in it. I will get some pics up asap to better illustrate what I am talking about. He left it in his car overnight during the winter and I am assuming this is what caused it. It does not affect the tone at all, but you can feel it. A shame on such a nice guitar really.

I am wondering if cracks are typically an easy thing to repair? Again, I will be posting pics to give you a better understanding of what I am talking about. I am sure it can vary. Its probably 5-7 inches long and goes from the bridge of the guitar to the bottom where the strap pin is.

It could be repaired I suppose, but the truth is you'll probably make it look worse trying to fix it. I have an old Alvarez Yairi that has a crack similar to that, and has had for over 20 years. I leave it alone and play it.
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.
