  • Floyd block question

I know 32mm Floyd blocks are for recessed trems, 42mm are for non-recessed, and 37mm were for some models with the semi-recess. My new USA Charvel Star has a non-recessed trem, but it's got a 37mm block. I thought it would have had a 42. Strange. Anyone what the deal with this is?

Well, what you stated is a good Rule of Thumb, but in actuality most manufacturers generally use whatever fits the particular guitar best.

BTW, if you´d prefer a 42mm, I have one that I need to swap out for a 37mm, PM me

Thanks, Tim. I've got no problem with it being 37. I'll just keep it in there.

I was looking at the work order for the red strathead run & figured it was a mistake that it was listed as 37 instead of 42. It'll be interesting to see what it turns out to be.
