• Model 6 Paint Job Pics

Well, here it is.. my very first ever paint job.

It was alot harder than I thought.. alot.

It's not perfect, but the next one should turn out better.

Now I have to decide if I should continue the pattern up the neck...

Are the black stripes paint or tape? I'd say continue it up the neck. It looks awesome though

I'll have to take your word that it's not perfect, cause I sure can't tell!

damn, that looks freaking great!!! any chance you might write down how you did that exactly (from stripping off until reassembling the hardware) and send it to me?
I have to do such a thing as well, because the finish on my guitar is completely eh.... fvcked up! (I bought it secondhanded and the state, well)

thanx in advance. btw, if you have some picks of the process... I would be very happy if you can send them as well. in that case it is a better idea to send it to [email protected]

That is beautiful! Doesn't look like a
first timer by any means! I think the neck looks cool plain white, but it'd also look great with the pattern continued up the neck, so either way is
cool!

Congrats on an excellent job!

Re: Model 6 Paint Job Pics

Thanks guys.

Like I said, it's not perfect.

For example: Some of the stripes have a little paint bleed, and I did'nt get rid of all the orange peel, when you look real close.. (about 4 inches away or so, you can see it in some spots.)

I used lacquer for paint.. (Don't think I'll do THAT again.)

I'm hoping in 3 weeks when I do the final buff and polish, the paint will "re-flow" and smooth out a bit more.

And to answer Gpop: No.. thats real paint, no tape.

I wasnt suggesting that you did use tape because it actually looks pretty sweet. In your first thread someone asked if it was tape so i got confused and wasnt sure how you did it. Nice Job
