  • eliminating a OFR nut

what are the options, if any??
    - are there roller types of nut which can be used to retrofit, with(out) shims?
    - is it worth to try to glue back a piece of wood and place an ivory nut in it?

You could use a Wilkinson Roller nut. It would require a very small mod to retro fit it, but nothing major.
I put one of these on my blue Charvel reproduction.

    Each roller is independant.

This type has all a solid roller.

you can also get an ebanol replacement nut. go to allparts.com and search for "ebanol nut" and you'll find it.

Lee at GMW said they could replace a Floyd nut with a regular nut by building a new nut area. I would guess by gluing a shaped piece of wood there.
