Pickups suggestions

Hi!

I'm working on my Tele project (I have Tele Custom body). I'm in a small dilemma whether to buy pickguard with wide humbucking routing (fits only for wide Fender hum) or ordinary one with two humbucking routings. Any idea? I think the standard HH option would be more versatile, since I'm looking for something like SD's Phat Cat (P90 in the shape of a hum). I want muddy/dirty sound with lots of mids and bass, but very little on bright tones. Something like Queens of the Stone Age. What pickups do you suggest?

I'd get the pickguard with normal spacing...everyone I know who gets one of those guitars changes the pickups out in them and has to get a new pickguard made. If you're into P90s though I would check out some of those, I like the Gibson ones myself a lot but then again I don't have quite the experience that some of these dudes have with them.
