Model 5a ?????

Would anyone happen to have information about and or decent catalog pics of a Model 5a? I just got a project recently and I'd like to know what was original on these. I checked out some of the "historical" Charvel archives online but any pictures or info was too small of a resolution to read. I'd appreciate pics of them if they are your own too!

Hey Dave,
The Model 5a's are like the Model 5, but only the 5a has a JT6 and one humbucker.

BTW, I got the pickup mouting rings...Thanks!!

My Model 5A had a J95 in it. I thought Doc told me it was supposed to have a J80C or J80BC, but I'm not sure.

I still have it, I just took the J95 out and put a DiMarzio X2N in it. I got the 5A from Doc in a trade for my Model 6, he told me the specs and what pups were supposed to be in it from an old catalog he had, but I can't remember exactly which pup was supposed to be in it.
The J95 did sound really good, though. I'm actually going to put it back in and use the X2N in something else, and I'm probably selling that guitar to John since I don't play it as much as some of my others.

Ok. Well, it has a JT6 whammy. I can't positively identify the pickup 'cos I'v enever taken the guitar apart. However, it does not sound the same as the pickup in my Model 3, fuller.

That's beautiful! I love the color. Did you get that new or was it used when you bought it? Is that a peice of plastic over the pickup to protect it? Nice idea. Thanks for the pics!
