• Re-evaluation of the DiMarzio Super Distortion.

After a bunch of great input from all the JCF brothers and a local tech I have to say.....The DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker ROCKS

I have spent the last few weeks tweaking my EQ and amp to get to the spot. Now my Model 2 rips. I can get some serious pinch harmonic squeel and the final test was cool. I have always been a big fan of Motley Crue and Mick Mars. He used Super Distortions. I recently learned how to play Shout at the Devil. After dialing in the tone closest to his I came as close to nailing it as I could. I'm glad i didn't trade this pickup in.

Sound: For those who havn't heard one, Randy Rhoads used em. The tone is warm and slightly compressed. Harmonics? I found em. Not overboard, but very present when needed. Output is a little lower than my Seymour Duncan Distortion and that is a good thing. The DiMarzio cuts through very well and doesn't have alot of fuzz like the SD does. I just may be a new convert.
