  • guitar preamp wiring question...

Ok, I have a model 1A. I converted the pickguard to a h/s/s and I am now wiring in:

    Jackson J50BC
    Jackson J200
    Jackson J200
    J1200 preamp
    5 way Charvel switch
    1 volume

I just want to make sure I have this straight.
The preamp has a pot connected to a circuit board. Off of that board there is another pot. What are these for?
    I also have a 25K volume pot.
These are the 3 pots that will be in the guitar.
Am I correct to think that the pot connected to the circuit board is the preamp volume? If so... what is the other pot that is wired off of the circuit board for?
Also, is the 25K volume pot the correct value?
    Thanks guys!!!

John, here's the typical layout for the pots with the JE-1200:

The pot the board is connected to is the volume pot, and it should be 50k if original. The other pot wired to the board is the midbboost level control. On my Model 6, the back of that pot is stamped "B50k". The tone pot is 250k.
