  • Question about floyd rose on model 6

If it's the JT6 style Floyd Rose system, then the arm is push-in and an Ibanez "Sure grip" one will fit.

That's what I have in my Model 5A and Model 3 anyhow.

Somewhere in this World there's a big pile of whammy bars...

Question about floyd rose on model 6

I need to replace a lost floyd rose tremolo whammy bar. Apart from finding a 6mm bolt, can someone tell me if my trem unit is considered an import (and thus requiring the 6mm screw in) or a standard one.

The reason I ask is that I was going to bid on one on ebay when I discovered that there are two types of whammy bars and want to make sure I bid on the right one.

    Thanks!

Steve's right. But, sometimes the JT-6 was modded to allow for the modern "collared" arm. So, in essence, there's really three Floyd style arms. For the standard original JT-6 it's the "pop in" arm as Steve mentioned above. For the first Floyd Rose trems it's the "screw in" arm. And the modern Floyd (including the Schaller) it's the "collared arm."
