Stupid noobie question

If I raise or lower my strings at the bridge does that affect my intonation? How about if I use the next set lighter strings that my guitar was setup for.

I did a search so dont flame me.

It can affect intonation, as you'll have to push down harder on the string if it's higher, and it can make the notes sharp. Though, if you're only adjusting it a little bit either way, then you might not have any change.
You'd just have to set it up for your liking and then check the intonation. Sometimes you can even be off when putting on new strings with the same gauge/brand, other times you may be fine.
If the 12th fretted note is sharp compared to the 12th harmonic, then you'd just move the saddle back to compensate. If the fretted note is flatter than the harmonic, then just move the saddle forward, towards the neck. It's rather easy to set intonation.

A good rule of thumb - if the needle shows to the left (flat) then take the saddle left. If it's right (sharp) take the saddle to the right.
