I use 9's with 3 springs on standard tuned guitars, and 10's with 3 springs on guitars tuned down.

        10-46 in standard tuning.
11-48 for one full step down (D).
Fully floating trems, 3 springs for both setups.

I've been experimenting a bit with string guages, and right now this is what works best for me.

I use 9-46 Hybrid Slinky or Blue Steel, standard tuning on short-scale guitars & Eb on 25.5" scale usually.

D'Addarios's 9-42 with 3 springs for standard tuning. 10-46 for 1/2 step down tuning with 4 springs.

I use 3 different sizes on my guitars. They are in standard A-440 tuning. First 9-42 D'Addario (recessed rout), 2nd 10-46 Ernie Ball and the 3rd is 11-50 DR's. Setups 2 and 3 are for top mounted Floyd's. All have 3 springs.

Ernie Ball Power Slinkys 11-48 in standard E tuning

I would like to use heavier set like 12's or 13's but pitch harmoncis sound dull and quiet with super heavy strings IMO. I need "screaming" sound but then again heavy strings sound fat and smooth. 11-48 seems to be the perfect compromise for me.

10-46 for E or Eb (GHS Boomers/Carvin strings).
11-48 for D (Ernie Ball Power Slinky).
4 or 5 springs, as I like the stiffer feel on the Floyd.
