  • San Dimas Series? Please help me out!

i have the option to buy a Charvel San Dimas, but i´m not shure if it´s an original.
features: koa body, birdseyemaple-neck, two HBs, floyd rose trem.
in the gallery and in old cataloges the SD have a "normal" pu-switch but the one i could buy has a toggleswitch like a les paul. was there a change in the production?
the serialnumber is: 95 1393, on the neckplate is the charvel-logo (made in the usa) and thats all.
on the headstock there is also the charvel (usa) logo.
and one more thing i found out:
i saw photos of SD with a dark-wood-stripe in the birdseyemapleneck, and "myone" has no other wood in the neck, only real-birdseye.

    so please help me out!!!
    thanx alot.

I know the San Dimas series only with blade pickup switches. Maybe there was a change in the production. In the past, it was possible to verify guitars by serial number with the custom shop. I don't know the new phone number after the move to Corona.
In the San Dimas series, there are guitars with and guitars without skunk stripe on the back of the neck. On necks with truss rod access on the headstock, the truss rod is installed under the fingerboard, this necks have no skunk stripe. On necks with truss rod access at the heel of the neck, the truss rod is installed from the back of the neck, this necks have a skunk stripe. My San Dimas III without skunk stripe and a San Dimas IV with skunk stripe.

There are indeed models of the SD1 and SD2 that came with either 5-way switch or 3-way toggle from factory.
