• For the J90 fans.... Reviews?

I may want to try one someday, but I don't really know how it sounds. Harmonics, tightness, EQ, sensitivity to picking, what woods it sounds best in...? If anyone has this info I'd be pretty grateful. A lot of it is a bit subjective but I'll take anything over nothing Cheers.

J90c's are usually covered but sound great uncoverd too.
they have a ceramic magnet which sounds great with basswood, alder or poplar IMO.Nice big 80s grind, more mids than a JB.The highs are very clean and the lows have a smooth growl. The D.C. res is around 16 so it is a hot pickup.
They are sensitive to height(without the cover) so test and retest to find the sweet spot.
The J-95 is a more bottom heavy pickup but is outstanding too.
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I have one in my Charvel Fusion Deluxe. It's my "Bark at the Moon" axe LOL! To me, it seems to get that Jake E. Lee tone.
