  • Converting Kahler 3300 to string thru

I'm thinking about converting the Kahler nontrem 3300 bridge on my KV Pro to a string thru bridge. Anyone do this before or have any input?

If you want to sell your 3300 I'd like dibs... and I did this conversion to a guitar that Noodles on this board now owns. PM him for a pic of the guitar.

Is the conversion difficult? I mean would any guitar tech know how to do it?

Mustaine did one with his Pro.
        It was a White one(rfinished?).

It's a very easy conversion to do. When you remove the Kahler, you will be left with 4 screw holes, and a small hole where the ground wire was. Unfortunately the ground wire also makes an impression where it is squashed into the guitar underneath the bridge. There will also most likely be a visible outline of the bridge on the top of the guitar. I hope you are planning on a re-finish. To install the T.O.M and string-thru ferrules, all you need is a drill press.
