  • Audio interface, speakers instead of headphones??

A friend of mine just gave me an early Christmas gift... the Line 6 Tone Port UX1. It's a recording and modeling desktop interface. There's jacks on the back for right and left line inputs, stereo monitor in, USB jack for connecting to computer, and right and left analog outs. The front's got jacks for instrument input, headphones, and XLR for a mic.
I plugged an old set of computer speakers into the headphone jack and get sound that way... is it safe to do, or should I just stick with headphones, or should I be using other monitors through the monitor in jack on the back??

Joe - you can probably do it without any problem. As long as the volume control will also turn the headphone volume up or down, you can use that to make sure you don't distort the signal.

Thanks, Pete. That's what I kinda figured. I've been keeping the speakers' volume up, just controlling it with the output volume from the Line 6.
