  • Floyd Rose II help needed

I have a couple of problems with a project I am working on.

The 1st problem is the posts fit snug in the body but don’t press in making them easy to come back out.

The 2nd is with the saddles. The E, A, and D saddles the string locking block would not move freely or even enough to get the string in, which is common for a damaged block. I removed the blocks but the new ones would not fit. I had to pop the back of the saddles out then tap the locking blocks out with a small screw driver, they were really in there. The saddles appear to be original and in good shape.

I have never had an issue replacing these before and don’t understand how this could happen. I bought the Floyd on Ebay so I don’t know if these are replacement saddles, but in my experience string locking blocks only come in one size.

Last question, where do guys buy replacement saddles? I don’t like the All Parts rounded ones for no other reason than they don’t look stock.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Can I glue the posts in or would this be a bad idea?

Okay guys, if no one stops me I am going to use some Elmer's wood glue tonight.

If you glue them, you proably won't be able to adjust your action after that if you need to. I'd say use some of the white PTFE teflon plumber's tape around the threads to get a better grip.

ok, my bad. The post and sleeve (?) are fine. The sleeves do not press into the body. They just slide in making them easy to slip back out. Would it be okay to use Elmer's wood glue to help fasten them back into the body?

Ah okay, the sleeve inserts for the body, you should be fine with just some Elmer's then.
