  • GLUE TO SEAL A GUITAR BODY?

    someone told me that you can use glue(hot stuff) to reseal a body or neck ? if so what would be the steps? i only have a 4 oz bottle, would that be enough

    you can use epoxy to fill the pores on a body as an alternative to grain filling; is that what you're referring to? if you can, provide a bit more detail regarding what it is you're looking to do.

      Been a while, but try this trick! Mix up some epoxy (not the 5 minute stuff, the real stuff) in a small cup and thin it just a little with some acetone. I do it by memory but if you need measurements I'd say approx. 1/2 oz acetone to 8 oz mixed epoxy. You can brush this mixture on open grained wood and in 24 hours you'll have a hard sealed surface you can sand smooth, prime and paint. There are also pre-mixed versions of this available at hobby shops for use on balsa wood airplanes and such. Try it!
