ok wierd here but i had two strings snap in the last two days - both at the ball end for some reason - like the loop that goes round it. it could be a dodgy batch of strings i guess but could it be possible that there maybe something in my kahler trem causing it eg sharp edges? what can i do about it?

Are you using Dean Markley strings? I had the exact same problem with them and Kahler.
Two things really help with Kahler, one involving much more effort. The first is bend the ends of your strings to follow the curve of the cam. Make sure the ball end goes in straight. The second is to tin the windings.
