• Pickup Rattle Solutions?

    Hey all,

You guys ever have a problem when one of your pickups rattle and buzz when you are playing? I'm not talking about an electronics buzz, I mean when you're not even plugged in.

It only occurs when fretting certain notes like D and G. If I play the note and touch the plastic on the pickup, the buzzing stops. When I had the guitar apart, the pickups seemed to be in position fairly snugly.

Anyone got any solutions for this type of problem? I was thinking of some kind of very thin shim to wedge in between the pickup and the pickguard.

    Ideas?

    Re: Pickup Rattle Solutions?

Sometimes I get a little pickup rattle with the pickups rings on some of my guitars. What I will do is put a little piece of foam (like what comes in the pickup box) under the pickup in the route. This keeps it pretty snug in there and keeps it from moving around causing the rattle.
