  • Will 250 kohm pot do in my case?

Hi. I've recently bought SD dimebucker and SD invader for the neck. I have 500 and 250K pots(my guitar, Jackson DKMG, posesses 2 emgs hz3 with 3-way toggle switch, 1 tone, 1 volume and also a booster pot(which goes with those emg pickups and which won't be used with the new humbuckers). But, unfortunately, according to the wiring layout there should be two 500K pots. So, my question is: is it possible to install 250K pot(for tone, for example) instead of the supposed 500K one? Thanks

    Here is the layout:

Yes, the 250k pot will be fine... it'll just give you a little warmer/darker tone compared to a 500k.

Thank you for the answer. Actually I've got one more pot, it's B500K, not A500K. But according to the following articles, I can use B500K for volume and A500K for tone. No harm in trying (I wish 8-). If anybody is experienced in installing those pots and who knows the consequences of all such replacements please respond. Thank you
