    I've got a 90's Soloist Standard professional.

How does the sound and quality compare to that of a US Soloist?

I'm just curious as it sounds a bit "Thin" when compared to my US made Hamer Centaura. (& I have bad fret buzz on the open b string, and a dead middle picup.....)

    Cheers Guys!

Ive got a 90's Soloist Std. That I threw a Duncan Distortion in and the thing rocks. I have no issues with it's tone at all. Poplar body wings and a Maple neck neck thru construction.

Sounds like you need a setup (neck and bridge/saddle/nut adjustment). The pickups used weren't the greatest, but those are cheap enough that you can put in your favorite without worrying about tossing good stock ones.
As for quality of wood/construction/playability, the early 90's Pro series was on par with the USA stuff of the same time, as plenty of people here can attest to through their ownership of both.
