    hey,

does anybody know if I can change sound on my Kahler 3300?
I read something about diffrent cams and saddles.

I wish I'd have more silver in my sound...

BTW I already kicked off the baseplate.

You can change the saddles (wheels) from brass to steel. That will get you a little more "silver" in your sound, assuming though you have brass saddle right now.

What guitar did this bridge come on? If it is on a KE1 or KV1, then I believe it already has the steel rollers.

Kahlers are big hunks of brass, so they are going to have a lot thicker sound than a Floyd or TOM, no matter what saddles you have on it. Having said that, Bengal651 is right: a move from brass to steel rollers will give you a lot more attack

It's a '97 KV1. The rollers look golden...dont think this is steel, is it?

          Nope that is brass.

What do you exactly mean with more "silver" in your sound? More bite?

I guess only the KE1 had the steel rollers, then, because those are certainly brass. The steel rollers are either silver, or anodozied black. Switch those out and you'll get a lot more bite.

Yeah, I mean this shimmering maple-like-highs...

              I just looked up:

              3300 brass roller
              3310 steel roller

                  yeah? so what?
3300 is also non-trem. They R quite similar, just the 3300 has brass rollers and with steel roller it's called 3310

damn, both, steel and brass look golden...
Does anybody have an old cataloge or something to look up if the 3300 or 3310 was mounted?

Those are both pictures of the brass rollers. The steel rollers are either silver, like on this, or anodized black like on this.

If I remember correctly, the steel rollers only came on the "Pro" version. Is that correct? Also, can you really expect that big of a sound difference going from brass to steel rollers? I'm pretty sure my ears would hear more of a difference between strings, amps, eq, and effects than the rollers on a Kahler. Course...my ears aren't what they used to be!
