sold the 81 should a try a (APC) adder?

I dumped the 81(too much output, sounded like a OD pedal was on all the time!)
what adder(APC) should i try looking for a tight,chunky,vocal tone that has harmonics out the wazzooo!
guitar is a old orginal maple neck san dimas charvel
i use a mesa amp(mkIII)

I am installing my APCs tonight hopefully(Persuader Lead Custom on the bridge, Felony X on the neck) and I will try to give you a quick review. But I think if you find EMGs have too much output I can guess Persuader Series might also be too much for you.

Ok, they are in. Persuader Lead Custom is as gainy, if not more, than EMG 85. It is an amazing pickup. Literally noiseless(even cleaner than EMG). Clarity is toe-to-toe with EMGs. Very solid bottom end and no batteries! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
