  • Different Neck Pocket lengths

If I have a Model Body that is 2 1/4 and I use a Stanard Fender Neck which is 2 3/16 is there going to be a huge problem? I'm afraid it will go in crooked or something.

Also how hard is it to convert a Fender neck to accept a locking nut?

    Thanks!

Intonation issues are the biggest problem I think. You need to make sure the bridge will be in the right place with respect to the neck being used. Like if you try using a 24 fret neck on a 22 fret body, the bridge won't be in the right place.

I'll pass on the locking nut issue to someone else, but if it's one of those nuts in the middle of the rosewood or maple, I think it would be easy if you are skilled with a dremel moto-tool.

I think Intonation is not a problem the Charvel Model series is 22 frets for the most part (the bolt on ones)
