• SH10 or 12?

I'm looking for something more open and not that round sounding than the JB, which is now in the bridge-position.
It's for my alder KV1. So I thought about the TB12 Screaming Demon or TB10 Full Shred.
Any opinions? Or other solutions?

Re: SH10 or 12?

I have the screamin' demon. I'm not sure I'd call it screaming - it's more chuncky and growly. It's in this axe:

and I think the body is solid maple. It does sound very much like Lynch or Armored Saint. I use this axe when playing both of those - it's detuned 1/2 step so that might add to the fatness. GHS Custom lite Boomers 9-46.

I've had a Full Shred for ages but I've never wired it up. Hopefully I will soon, but from the reviews I think the full Shred is more of a screamer.

Don't be afraid to consider the SH-11 Custom Custom. The unofficial EVH Kramer Era pickup. PAF tone on steriods...

Damn, somany opinions. I just had a session were I even really liked the JB. It's more good for crunch than real high-gain.

(got this? dont forget I'm German...)

Re: SH10 or 12?

Well, if I would go for a hot-PAF, I wouldn't buy SeymourDuncan.
I would purchase Häussel pick-ups. He's a German Custom guy. I got his PAF in the neck---real nice!
But the best is, you can tell what you want to have and wirres it for you.
Maybe I sould give him a call...

We have hand makers out here as well. I ordered 3 pickups from highorder.com Really great quality and an excellent value.

Re: SH10 or 12?

george lynch used Duncan Distortions with his maple guitars back in the day (before the sh-12).

so most of your dokken albums were recorded with DD's.

That is correct. I have a DD coming shortly.
