  • alternate trem-bar for the JT580 (on my dkmg)

hello, i was wondering if a really low trem-bar is available for the jt580 on my DKMG...the kind u'd find on an ibanez RG series...those trem-barsd are so much more comfortable. bear in mind that presently my trem bar is screwed in from the outside via a brush...thanks.

    Try heating and bending it.

I don't think it is secured with a brush. Its more like a comb or maybe an afro-pic like the one JJ Walker used to have in his back pocket.

Seriously though, if you don't want to bend it, you could cut it off about an inch from the tip and round it off with a file. The previous owner of my Model 6 did that to the trem bar, and I found that I like it a lot that way! It's more out of the way than an uncut bar, and it doesn't poke out as much from the face of the guitar. I can still grab it quickly while playing.

It feels comfortable to me, so I'm actually considering cutting all my trem bars now.
