I dont`have a camera right now to take a picture, but the crack is located by the 9th fret and it`s like 1/2 inch wide, it`s not a sigle crack but a lot of cracks in that area. Do I have to replace the entire binding?

      Thanks for your help

Sounds like yer fretboard is shrinking and the fret tang is cracking the binding from the inside.

Over at the Stew-Mac site, I read that acetone kinda 'melts' plastic or ABS binding - that's how ends and corners are made seamless. But I am IN NO WAY an expert on such things...

Why do I still want MORE?

You need to be careful with acetone - it will eat through pretty much any plastic it touches. I suppose it might work if you thin it a bit and take it slow.
