• Problem swapping pickups, not wiring related

Ok the sound is not the problem. It's gorgeous... This pickup is a sleeper and totally underrated. But it IS a trembucker/F spaced and yet... Well the polepieces aren't where they should be. Has it happened to anyone, and what's the cause?

EDIT: ok... the JT6 has standard spacing. Well that's one hard learnt lesson that I had no idea about. Stupid me.

Me either. Thanks for taking one for the team on that one

What model peecup is that, BTW?

dude, buy and ofr long block and replace the jt-6. it will sound and perform better and you won't have to re-wire a new pup.

I'm w/ DR on this one, though it may be a bit more of a hassle & expense in Europe to go that route than it is over here.

There is one irritating problem about a Floyd conversion with that bridge though: The JT-6 studs are wider than the OFR studs, so you'd either have to keep the JT-6 studs, or dowel the holes and redrill.

I hear the OFR is a direct replacement?
I don't have 200 euros to shell out for a Schaller unfortunately.
It's a Full Shred. This pickup rips.

What licenced Floyd would be the best bang for the buck for cheaper than a Schaller or OFR and would be better than the JT6?
In Europe the Gotohs are more expensive than the OFR, keep that in mind...

Ah wait my bad... I did find one website (In Holland, how convenient ) that has Gotohs for cheaper than Schallers (about 40 euros cheaper including shipping compared to Rockinger's Schallers)

Is it worth the money? Should I shell 40 extra euros and get the Schaller?

And how about a second hand OFR? Would that run under 170 bucks/150 euros including shipping and be worth not getting the Schaller or even Gotoh?

no need to change the posts or studs, just swap the jt-6 for the ofr (40mm block) and your done.
