  • Neck Relief Question?

Okay, so i'm gonna adjust the truss rod on my RR1 in order to straighten the neck after putting on thicker strings.

i know the trick where you press down the 1st and last fret and measure the distance from the 7th fret to the strings...

but what should that distance be on a perfectly set up neck?
or at least what is a good starting point?

also check the 1st to 12th. i like very little relief i think it keeps the action more level down the entire neck.

From Tom Anderson's website should be .006"...go down and click the 9th topic "Checking neck and adjusting" Anderson site

From Fender site, for flatter radius guitars like jackson, .008", scroll down and look under truss rod and adjustment: Fender site
