• Single Coil Angle...

Need a bit of help here...

I am planning a Jake E Lee replica build. Probably going to use Warmoth Parts and havve them only route the bridge 'bucker slot, I need to know what the angle of the singles is. I'm thinking the same angle as a strat bridge single, but backwards and probably "hinged" on the treble side mounting screw (does that make sense?)

Am I close? Does anybody know?

    Thanks in advance!

Why not have them route the single coils as well? I asked one time and they said they would.

They slant the opposite way of a Strat so you get less bass on the lower strings since the pole pieces are closer to the bridge on that end.

The purple one is not mine. I just found it in the Gallery... it belongs to our very own Admin. Kevin Maynard.

^^^ does that mean I'm correct?

Warmoth will route it too? Damn, this might be easier than I thought...

Will they cut a Gaurd the right way to? With only two control holes instead of three like a Strat?

                  Re: Single Coil Angle...

ok... I priced it out... $630 plus hardware. I already have a JB... so a set of Gotoh Tuners, a Hard-Tail Bridge and a Pair of DiMarzio SDS-1's. Not bad... A Jake for $1000-ish. That's a lot better than the $2900 Canadian I was quoted to have the ESP Custom Shop make one...

                    Re: Single Coil Angle...

warmoth will NOT do that. trust me, i've asked many times. your best bet is to either have them give you a h-h-h rout or a swimming pool route.

then good luck with getting the pickguard done, too. it's another thing that warmoth won't do. i had to look all over the place to have one done, and when i found a place that would do it, it was expensive.

                      Re: Single Coil Angle...

If they won't, I'll route the singles and have them do the guard with only a humbucker and the knobs/switch and add the rest myself... it's not too bad. I can handle it...

I have a message from three years ago where they say they will do it.

i've talked to many people there about having that done and i got nowhere. thankfully i've found other places that will.
