• Help a newbie identify a bass

    Hi all

Ive only been playing for a couple of months but recently felt the need to upgrade from the cheap Washburn I started with to something a little better. I’m not really a fan of the styling of Fender basses so I wanted something a little different and a guitarist friend sent me a link to this bass:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...333383091&rd=1

Blown away by its awesome good looks I bid on it and won the auction but other than the vague description I have no solid idea what it is? I hunted around the Internet after answers with no real success. My friend thinks it’s a model 3b but that’s a guess? Stuck ive come to the experts a little help guys?

    Cheers

    Dave

Nice find! Congrats and Welcome to the JCF Forum! I'm not an expert on Jackson Basses but someone who knows will chime in any time now. Happy playing. Cheers!

Not an expert, but by the logo style, and the control layout, I'm guessing it's a Model 3B like this one in the gallery.

      Nice bass for sure. Congrats!

actually that's a Model 2B since it's a bolt on neck. Model 3b's had a neck through setup. She's a beauty, congrats and welcome to the forum!

                    Didn't a 4b have binding and sharkfins?
