Non locking nut on locking neck?

I have an old neck that sitting around doing nothing. It's cut for a Floyd Rose nut. Aside from the aesthetic, are there any issues with sticking a non-locking nut on there? Seems like it should just work, but what do I know? [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

You can also have a normal nut mounted on a neck with an OFR platform without any complications
