Balanced Cables and Phantom Power

Does anyone know if you take an XLR Cable that has phantom power going to and convert it to a 1/4" balanced end will the phantom power be terminated?

Basically I have a with XLR jacks providing phantom power for a few mics. I also want to use those jacks for another device at the same time that has 1/4" balanced connections. I want to make sure the phantom power won't hurt the other device.
