• Nut shims for OFR

Does anyone have a source to get shims to raise the nut on my newly purchased DK-1. Thanks in advance.

Guitarnucleus.com has them for $4.95, but they're currently out of stock. They're one of the cheapest places I've found on parts as well as shipping.

Aluminum foil, paper, cardboard, plastic from a package of guitar strings all work well.

Materials I've used to shim nuts are:
1.) Cola/beer cans - beer ones sound better!,
2.) "brake shimming" pads I found at Autozone while looking for something else - these were made of aluminum and had an adhesive back which worked well, and
3.) When my old computer moniter died I ripped it open scavenging for wire and found an aluminum or similar metal shell covering it, and started cutting that up. I actually have used the larger pieces for shimming neck pockets.

Man, I sound like the "frugal luthier!"
At one point, I was going to find some brass shim stock at an arts store, but I never came across any.
"Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."

LOL Yeah! I actually had a PS4 neck that had a cardboard shim under the nut... not sure if it was done at the factory or if someone else did it. I wound up putting more cardboard under it to bring it up a little more.

No, it actually wasn't a business card. It was a thin piece of colored cardboard, probably from like a little box of candy or something.
Someone else here recently got a USA Jackson with a piece of cardboard under their nut, too.
