• Mystery DImarzio Pickup

I've had this for about 15 years.

It came out of a custom guitar.

    I cannot remember the make.

The guitar was pretty old at the time.

That could make this over 25 years old?

    Any Ideas?

Looks like it says DiMarzio, not SD. What's the DP number say?

What's it say after DiMarzio? Looks like it says DP something.

            Re: Mystery SD Pickup

Oh, it says "pickups". The U looked like a D to me and I couldn't read what it said before it. Actually, if it's that old, it may very well be a DP100 Super Distortion. Email the pic to DiMarzio and see if they can maybe help you.

                    Re: Mystery SD Pickup

Have a repair tech hook it up to a meter, see what kindas Ks it's puttting out & compare that to the Dimarzio catalog, might help to pin-point it!!

                      Re: Mystery SD Pickup

It's probably a Early PAF only one set of screws a super distrotion would have two set's of screws.

                        Re: Mystery SD Pickup

                        Well the ohmmeter said 8.10

On Dimarzio's site the PAF is rated at 8.09

                        We have a winner.

                        Thanks for the help guys.
