What size Floyd nut will I need for my Model 6?

I have already replaced the JT-6 on my Model 6 and would now like to have a tech install a proper Floyd nut.

Question is what size (ie. R2, R3) is the proper one for that guitar?

Is that a USA guitar? If so, it should have a real Floyd nut already and it will say underneath what R number it is.

Keep in mind that R3 and R4 fit on the same size neck, just the strings are spaced differently on the fretboard, with R3 being the most commonly used, but R4 is out there too.

On imports, it's a bit harder as a Charvel Model 88 neck is sized for an R2 nut, as is the nut on my Charvel Spectrum. My 750XL came with an R4 nut as standard, which I will one day swap out for an R3 when I get around to it. I've also seen a Charvel Fusion Custom with a factory R4 nut.

non-US - i think i just have to screw it out of the neck and take the nut to buy a schaller one that is identical
