• How thick are the sharkfin inlays?

Does anyone know?
I'm looking to do some scalloping.

They are not thick at ALL!
I would actually advise against it if
its a newer model Usa Jackson.
In fact, these are so thin that Jackson will not even do a scalloping on a custom shop order with fins....

...Unless you´re willing to omit fins where the scallops are

Isn't scalloping done BEFORE the inlays are placed down?! My '93 Explorer Custom is scalloped and it's got the sharks...

Thanks for the info guys.

sigh... seems like I can't scallop the KE3's neck then... have to find a performer neck...

IIRC, the Arash "signature" guitar was scalloped with fins and that was finished just about 2 years ago.

Nope, that guitar has no inlays, it was just in here last week for a setup (was finished last summer, BTW)

Gotta love Kahlers, there doesn´t seem to be a tech in the Frankfurt area that can set one up to his liking, so he sends his axe to me

Hehe, I had almost forgotten about that debate...
