Alright lads.
How do I get that clangy Megadeth/Anthrax bass tone?
Im running an Ibanez BTB400 through a Crate BT100. Havnt played around with it that much - Ive only had it a week!
Thanks

Re: Bass tone

Define "clangy". You mean the bass tone from Symphony of Destruction (song)?

Scoop the eq, cut the mids and boost the highs and lows.

Re: Bass tone

I get a good Anthrax bass tone (like the Persistence of Time album) with a good slapback reverb/delay effect. Timed correctly, it doubles your notes and 'clangs' nicely.

On the intro to Peace Sells, it also sounds to me like he is using a pick; try that if you haven't yet.

Yeah, using a pick is the key here.

when looking at my picking hand: i have index finger, pinky finger and thumb... ring and bird fingers are gone. hmmm i would soooo flip you off with that hand if i could
actually i do ok with one finger but for some really fast stuff i gotta use the pick.
